Westside Dog Nanny – Diana Davidson

My Background

Dog Boarding/Pet Sitting in Los Angeles - Westside Dog Nanny - Diana Davidson

I was born and raised on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York, attended Hunter College, CUNY, and graduated with a double major in Chemistry and Biology. I was awarded a National Institutes of Health Fellowship to pursue a Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the Center for Brain Research at the University of Rochester, New York.

After graduation, I came to Los Angeles for a summer vacation. I felt so comfortable here that I decided to make this my home.

Since I’ve always loved teaching, I began teaching high school math and science at The Buckley School in Sherman Oaks. High School kids are the best. I loved them; but I wanted a more challenging career.

Acquiring the prestigious CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER certification, CFP, I became a Financial Advisor and worked in Century City.

Why Did I Become A Nanny?

For some time I had felt something was missing in my life. The “Great Recession” forced me to reassess my priorities and, as a result, I decided to follow my heart and become a “pet nanny.” I never planned to open my own business, but looking back at this decision, I only wish I’d made it years earlier.

My clients have pointed out I have a very special connection with dogs. Upon first meeting, they are amazed at how friendly and loving their usually unfriendly, nervous and sometimes hostile dogs are with me. They comment that their dogs feel my love … and lack of fear.

Even though I have had dogs and cats for many years, I didn’t realize this special connection until I started Westside Dog Nanny. This business brings me so much happiness and inner peace that it’s my goal to share this happiness and peace with my clients by taking extraordinarily good care of their darling pets.
